Manningham Life is an independent local news publication serving the City of Manningham in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
Founded in 2021 following the closure of the Manningham Leader newspaper at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Manningham Life was created to ensure the community continued to have access to trusted local news, community information and public interest journalism.
Our focus is on the people, organisations and issues that shape life in Manningham. We cover local government and civic affairs, community news and events, health, education, environment, infrastructure, local businesses and community organisations. We also tell the stories of local residents, celebrating the people, cultures, achievements and contributions that make our community unique.
From 2021 to 2025, Manningham Life was delivered free of charge to 20,000 households across Manningham. During that time, more than 420,000 copies were distributed to local homes, libraries and community locations. Today, Manningham Life is published online, continuing its mission of informing, connecting and strengthening our community through accessible and independent local journalism.
Manningham is one of Melbourne’s most culturally diverse municipalities, with more than 54,000 residents born overseas and 46 per cent speaking a language other than English at home. We are committed to reflecting the diversity of our community and ensuring a broad range of voices and perspectives are represented in our coverage.
Manningham Life is a member of the Local & Independent News Association (LINA), Australia’s peak body for independent local news publishers, and is committed to high standards of journalism and editorial independence.
