Across Manningham, the change is visible from the ground — but from above, it is impossible to ignore. We are losing trees left and right. The construction of the North East Link has carved across our municipality, with trees in its path cleared to make way for the new freeway, while ongoing development continues to thin out established canopy in our suburbs.

This photojournalism piece invites you to see what many of us have been noticing — the scale of tree loss when viewed from above, and the stark before-and-after changes reshaping our neighbourhoods. The images tell their own story — of trees sacrificed to progress.
