Local drivers are advised to plan ahead and avoid the Eastern Freeway from next weekend as the freeway will be closed in both directions between Bulleen Road and Springvale Road from 10pm, Friday, 3rd July to 5am, Monday, 6th July.
Some key changes during this weekend closure are:
- You won't be able to get onto the freeway heading towards Ringwood from Chandler Highway.
- Thompsons Road will be closed in both directions between Bulleen Road and the Bulleen Park and Ride.
- Key detours will be in place via Doncaster, Bulleen, Manningham, Tram, Whitehorse and Springvale roads. An additional northern detour will be available via Reynolds and Templestowe roads.
You won't be able to turn right from Doncaster Road heading east at:
- Rose Street
- Elgar Road
- Tram Road
- Frederick Street

After the freeway closure...
When the freeway closure is finished, the Bulleen Road citybound exit ramp will remain closed until Monday, 3rd of August while they continue major works building the future shared path underpass.
