Hello everyone, my name is Zhuojun Cai and I’m an intern journalist at Manningham Life. I come from Sichuan, China, and I am currently pursuing a Master of International Journalism at the University of Melbourne. Previously, I worked as a journalist in China, where I gained experience in field reporting, website editing and storytelling. Since moving to Australia, I’ve been inspired by the people and the sense of community around me, and I’ve become increasingly curious about the stories behind individuals and local businesses. I believe it’s often the small, everyday moments that reveal who we are as a community. I’m truly honoured to be interning at Manningham Life and look forward to hearing your stories, exploring local events, and sharing them with a wider audience.

Hi everyone, my name is Sally Niu and I’m an intern reporter at Manningham Life. I’m from Shijiazhuang, China, and I am currently studying for a Master of International Journalism at the University of Melbourne. Through my studies, I’ve learned about news writing, media production and cross-cultural communication, which have given me a deeper understanding of the mission and value of journalism. I have also worked with traditional media outlets and internet companies in China, where I gained experience in news content creation and media communication. These experiences helped me discover how much I enjoy uncovering meaningful stories, speaking with people from different backgrounds and helping them share their voices. I believe a good reporter not only conveys information but also connects people and their communities. It’s an honour to join Manningham Life, and I look forward to discovering and reporting local stories while bringing readers authentic, vibrant and valuable content.

Hello everyone, my name is Shumin He and I’m an intern journalist at Manningham Life. I come from Zhejiang Province, China, and I am currently pursuing a Master of International Journalism at the University of Melbourne. During my studies, I have developed a strong interest in community reporting and public-interest journalism, and I enjoy researching local issues, conducting interviews, and writing stories that reflect the everyday lives of residents. My academic training has strengthened my skills in news writing, interviewing and media ethics. Through both study and practice, I have come to appreciate the important role local journalism plays in connecting communities, and I enjoy listening to people’s experiences and understanding different perspectives. As a bilingual speaker of English and Mandarin, I also hope to help make local information more accessible to Chinese-speaking residents in Manningham.
