On the evening of 29 September 2025, Manningham Civic Centre was filled with celebration as residents from more than 20 different countries officially became Australian citizens. Surrounded by family, friends, and community leaders, the new citizens marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
The evening was led by Mayor Deirdre Diamante, joined by Gabriel Ng MP, Federal Member for Menzies, Nicole Werner MP, State Member for Warrandyte, and a message from a federal minister. All extended their congratulations and warm welcome to Manningham’s newest citizens.
As part of the ceremony, new citizens received their official certificates, along with the Australian flag and flowers as symbols of belonging and respect.
Families proudly joined in the celebrations, capturing the special moment with applause and photographs.

The event also featured live performances from the Manningham Concert Band, which added a festive and uplifting atmosphere to the evening. The band led the audience in the national anthem, creating a sense of unity and pride across the hall.
A world map was also displayed, highlighting the wide range of countries represented among the new citizens, from Asia and Europe to Africa and the Americas.

The ceremony reflected Manningham’s identity as a diverse and inclusive community. For those who took the pledge, it marked not only the beginning of their Australian citizenship but also a moment of shared pride with their loved ones and the wider community.
Manningham holds several citizenship ceremonies each year, celebrating new citizens and the multicultural character of the city.
