At 9.50pm on Sunday, October 26, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to a house fire on Peter-Budge Avenue in Templestowe following multiple Triple Zero (000) calls.

Firefighters arrived in under six minutes to find the roof of the two-storey brick veneer home, already well alight. All three occupants had safely evacuated before crews arrived.

Working together, firefighters entered the home to contain the blaze, bringing it under control by 10.23pm. Crews continued to extinguish hotspots in the roof space and the upper floor.

The three residents have been relocated to alternative accommodation for the night.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike.

In total, 34 firefighters attended the scene, supported by Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria.
