Eastern Freeway's Springvale Road citybound ramp closure
Local drivers are advised to plan ahead and avoid trying to get to the city from the Springvale Road entry ramp onto the Eastern Freeway as it will be closed from 10pm, Wednesday 8 April 2026 to 11.59pm, Friday 24 April 2026.
These works involve:
- noise wall removal
- removal of existing kerb and asphalt
- earthworks and pavement construction
- relocation of existing drainage
- building a temporary construction access into the work site at Junction Road Reserve
- installing asphalt along the widened freeway entry ramp.
- installing and adjusting temporary traffic barriers
Drivers are being advised to use the Blackburn Road citybound entry ramp instead.

Bulleen Road closures
Between 7pm Thursday 9 April 2026 to 6am Monday 20 April 2026, the straight & left turning southbound lanes on Bulleen Road, between Bridge Street and Manningham Road, will be closed 24/7. You will only be able to turn right onto Manningham Road towards Heidelberg during this time.
Also on Thursday 9 April 2026 and Sunday 12 April 2026 between 7pm to 6am, Bulleen Road will be closed in both directions between Bridge Street and Manningham Road.
These works are to safely complete critical drainage works for the future Manningham Road interchange.

Eastern Freeway closure
The Eastern Freeway will be closed between Bulleen Road and Tram Road in both directions from 10pm, 17 April 2026 to 5am, 20 April 2026.
At the moment, not much information has been released on this closure but we will let you know more closer to the dates.
