Since October 2024, more than 30 people have been arrested after they were caught in concerning assaults against men.
These targeted attacks are linked to the use of dating apps and social media, as police allege young males aged between 13-20 are orchestrating the violent assaults.
The offenders have been known to pose as legitimate users on the dating apps in order to lure men into meeting them.
The victims of these incidents are then allegedly assaulted, robbed, threatened and subjected to derogatory comments.
In some instances the victims were filmed and the videos were then uploaded to social media.
Police are urging those that have fallen victim to these attacks to make a report, so they can further investigate and hold offenders accountable.
